Software Engineer Intern, Summer 2020

San Francisco, California

Worked on the Coinbase Monorail and the Notifications API, Chasqui, as a member of the Consumer Backend Growth Team.

Developed, end-to-end, a Chasqui placeholder localization tool. Steps included writing a tech doc for design, coding the localization, a migration step to integrate this Chasqui tool into the Monorail, a bugbash integration split tests, and a well-orchestrated rollout.

Software Engineer Intern

Houston, Texas

Stealth mode startup dealing with intelligent data storage and retrieval. My role is to generate datasets and query from these datasets in order to test performance metrics. Utilizes Python scripting, Database Management, SQL, and AWS.

I have also contributed to the business development portion of this startup, working directly with the founder and CEO.

Software Engineer Program Intern, Summer 2019

Houston, Texas

Worked on middle office trade processing and allocation for the Corporate and Investment Bank line of business. Application renders client email, confirms trade details with front office trade application, and allocates funds according to client guidelines sent in the email.

Created a file poller, synergizing with a firm-specific strategic framework, which receives a CSV/TSV file as input, reads the contents, and sends data to progressive in line processors to be converted into Java data objects, enriched, and translated into FIX strings.

Designed and implemented a JVM memory leak analyzer using Python and shell scripting to grep .live and .all files, regex to parse the fields, and functional programming to filter results. Returned a CSV containing data regarding the analysis.

Research Intern, Summer 2018

Portland, Oregon

Automated, using Python, the detection of indels in barcoded mice DNA, minimizing background rate of detection through the use of modular operations, and random variable quantification.

Tested a safer and more effective viral gene therapy for most liver-related diseases and cancers by designing a new method to select for genetically modified cells while the patient is alive and creating vectors through molecular cloning. The results from my experiments redirected the lab’s research focus and my CRISPR construct is now widely used among its members.
